To go ‘around in circles’, usually refers to one using a lot of time and effort trying to do something, without making any progress. However, this latest Deryn Schmidt range for Spring-Summer 2011/12 has seen a lot of progress being made while doing just that, by going ‘Around in Circles’.
Deryn was able to draw inspiration from some of her favourite styles, shapes, lines that she remembers seeing, wearing, falling in love with, and even designing in the past. Using this stimulus from a number of past decades, the lines have been reworked and revitalised to ensure that each style is current with an edge, yet still feminine and classic.
The colours of the season are contrasting, with energetic shades of red, watermelon and coral, matched with orange to provide that warm burst of summer fun. To balance the warmer hues are some cooler shades of teal, sea green, with the stand out print of the season coming in bold acidic sulphur yellow. This print is also offered in gunmetal, which fits with the dark navy and black colour ways that are present. Neutral pastel colours are also utilised throughout the range with dusty pink, white and cream making an appearance along with the very prominent and ever popular tan and sand shades.
Enjoy the Spring-Summer season, looking and feeling great in Deryn Schmidt, ‘Around in Circles’.
